Finishing off the list is the point guard, Jameer Nelson.

I get it, the Nuggets played pretty good basketball with Nelson running the point. He’s a pretty good ball-mover and a good shooter as well. He’s a seasoned veteran, with experience of even playing in the NBA Finals. There are several great things that could come from him running the offense, so why should the Nuggets trade him?

The real question should be why shouldn’t we? There are many young guards on the roster that need playing time to develop properly. I personally believe Jamal Murray is the future point guard of the team, with Emmanuel Mudiay being a reliable back-up option. Keeping Jameer on the team and in the starting line-up is limiting the playing time that Denver could give to them.

While Jameer may make the right play sometimes, he makes the worst plays on others. As I stated earlier, Nelson and Will Barton both have the same problem, they try to be heroes too often.

A perfect example of Nelson doing this came in a crucial game down the playoff stretch. In a situation where the Nuggets need a bucket, Jameer had several shots that he could have set up. What does he do instead? Nelson takes a horrible step-back jumper that some all-stars probably couldn’t make either. The Nuggets lost the game, and many fans were unhappy with Jameer, including myself.

Must Read: Denver's past drafts

If Denver wants to have somebody they can trust to take any clutch shots, it does not need to be Jameer. I want to clarify, I am not a Jameer Nelson hater, in fact, I think that he helped the offense greatly last season. I just don’t see why the Nuggets should keep him around with all of the young guards that they have at their disposal. If a team needs a veteran bench player or even starting point guard, the Nuggets could have their answer.
