Many reports by now have linked Chris Paul to meeting with the Nuggets this summer which has many Denver fans in a frenzy.
Before you get your hopes up, I am just going to state now that I will be surprised if Chris Paul does decide to sign with the Nuggets. However, the fact that a star in today’s league is wanting to have anything to do with the franchise points towards progress.
Do not forget that Dwyane Wade gave the Nuggets serious consideration last summer despite many analysts being perplexed by this. Even though Wade chose Chicago, he stated that Denver has a bright future ahead of them.

Denver Nuggets
Now, Chris Paul will meet with the organization this summer. Before you ask, no, I am not about to say they are going to form the “banana boat,” squad in Denver. What I take it as though, is there may be a larger picture at work here. Chris is at the point of his career where he needs a ring and is bound to hit the down slope of his prime soon.
There is a slim chance that he may be thinking of a potential big three in the Mile High. The Nuggets have a ton of cap space along with a budding star in Nikola Jokic. For all we know, Paul could be willing to take a pay cut in order for the Nuggets to bring in a third star like Paul Millsap.
Seeing a big three of Millsap, Paul and Jokic would make Denver an immediate playoff team. Not to mention, Chris would have a field day utilizing these two star big men with pick and pop and pick and roll scenarios.
We will see what unfolds. (Note, this is NOT a verified rumor. Just a possible hypothesis for why Paul is considering the Nuggets.)
