Paul George in Denver would hinder the Nuggets’ long term development.

It is no secret that Paul George will most likely find his way out of Indiana sooner or later. As a result, there is ongoing speculation about him coming to Denver once again.

While the thought is entertaining at first, it would actually be a step backwards for the Nuggets long term. If one recalls correctly, Denver actually made an offer for the star wing at the trade deadline.

What Indiana wanted was too much though and the deal fell through. That isn’t what the big news was though with a potential George trade to Denver.

Paul eventually made some comments about how he would not stick around long term if he were sent to the Nuggets. As one could imagine, this did not sit well with many Nuggets fans. George has made it very clear that he wants to eventually play in Los Angeles for the Lakers.

With all of this in mind, it would make no sense for Denver to make a power play for him. It would result in yet another Andre Igoudala result. Denver fans know what this is, a one year rental for a player who leaves the team in free agency instantly giving them nothing in return.

Do not mistake me, George would benefit the Nuggets in many ways. However, one has to ask if what he brings to the table is worth having only for a year?

If the Nuggets are smart, they will stay away from the Indiana star.
