Wild Card First Round Pick: Jarrett Allen (Center), University of Texas

This pick is a wild card because most scouts already know what Allen is going to be in the NBA. Allen is at the very top of the high-floor and low-ceiling list.

Allen is a capable defender for his size and is a great rim protector, and he has a nice touch around the rim with a developing jump shot.

The wild card aspect really comes into play when you think about how he would develop playing alongside Jokic.

This is what makes Zach Collins such an obvious #1 choice with this pick, but Allen may not be a terrible consolation prize. The 6’11 center also played college ball at the University of Texas (Hello, Myles Turner.) so the lineage of developing talented big men under one of the top coaches in Shaka Smart is not under question.

Keep an eye on this sleeper pick.
