Denver must pursue Chris Paul and Blake Griffin now in order to have a shot at competing in their division.
It is safe to say now that the Denver Nuggets are in the toughest division in the NBA. I mean, just think of the teams in the Northwest division.
You have Oklahoma City, Utah, Portland and now the Minnesota Timberwolves will be formidable after the addition of Jimmy Butler. After some questionable draft picks, the only way the Nuggets can keep pace and remedy their less than stellar draft night is through free agency. Luckily, for the Nuggets, they still have a lot of cap space to entice free agents.

Denver Nuggets
Two players they must make an attempt for in order to keep pace in their division are Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. Yes, the likelihood of landing both of these star free agents is very slim. However, Connelly has been aggressive the past couple of seasons in trying to get a star. He was close in the draft from the sounds of it only to be backed out on last minute.
Chris Paul has already made it clear he wants to meet with Denver. As for Blake Griffin, well he could follow his teammate and besides, wouldn’t catching sweet lobs from Nikola Jokic be fun?! Okay, so that pitch probably won’t work, but still, Denver has a ton of young talent and the potential to make some noise.
They are just a piece or two from being serious threats and that is where CP3 and Blake Griffin come in.
The Nuggets need to at least make a push to form a big three with them and Nikola Jokic.
