The LA Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks have agreed to a three-team sign-and-trade that will send Danilo Gallinari to Los Angeles. Thanks for everything, Gallo.

Well, it is over. The Danilo Gallinari era with the Denver Nuggets has come to an end. As ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported, Gallinari will be heading to the LA Clippers in a three-team sign-and-trade deal with Denver and Atlanta after agreeing to a three-year, $65 million contract. The Nuggets will receive a 2019 second-round draft pick as compensation.

Despite many of us fans expecting this day to come, it still feels bittersweet to say goodbye to Gallo.

He was a great class act during his tenure and, despite the injuries, finishes third of all time in three-pointers made in franchise history and a total of 4,898 points (an average of 16.2 per game). Did he have his flaws? Yes, but you can’t deny that he gave his all and was a key centerpiece for many years.

He was the main highlight in the famous Carmelo Anthony trade for Denver and he capitalized on that fact. Gallinari may not be a household name, but for Nugget fans, he will always be remembered.

While it is sad to see him go, this parting will most likely be beneficial for both sides. It is time for both Denver and Gallinari to move in another direction, but I personally hold no ill will towards him. I will be the first to say thank you, Gallo, and best of luck going forward in the future.
