The Nuggets and Timberwolves will be much improved.

Around this time last year there was quite a bit of hype around the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite the fact that Denver was the better team the year before, and that Denver had three first round picks compared to Minnesota’s one, most still argued Minnesota would be the better team.

Last year Denver finished the season with a record of 40-42. Minnesota finished with a record of 31-51. Denver was by far the better team last year. However, with additions of Butler, Teague, Gibson, and Crawford the Wolves will certainly improve.

Now there is a tremendous amount of hype around this Minnesota team. Every prediction I have seen for the 2017-18 season has Minnesota predicted higher than Denver. Even espn.com predicted Minnesota to be the 4 seed in the west and Denver to be the 7 seed.

Denver’s addition of all-star forward Paul Millsap has been overshadowed by Minnesota’s busy off season.

However, after the Timberwolves additions and losses will they close the gap on Denver? There are several reasons why it’s not likely.
