Friday night in Los Angeles, the NBA and Nike rolled out some pretty awesome gear. The first thing that Nike introduced was the Nike NBA Connected Jersey, which is a revolutionary jersey that will give the wearer a deeper insight to their favorite players and teams.  The second thing that Nike and the NBA introduced were the Statement Edition uniforms and the third were the Nike Therma Flex Showtime Warmup Jackets.

Denver Nugget Paul Millsap was in attendance as he represented the Nuggets in the newest gear rolled out by Nike.

The Statement Edition uniforms in themselves were already leaked by NBA 2K18 earlier this week but when looking at the actual jerseys, they are much nicer looking than the video game led them to be.  These jerseys were also discussed by our own Mathew Huff just a few days ago when they were leaked online. These statement jerseys are the third installment of jerseys rolled out by Nike and there will be a fourth that will be released in late 2017.

"“Our Nike uniforms set a new standard for connecting our most passionate fans with their favorite NBA teams and players,” said Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner. “Nike has once again taken the game of basketball to a new level, this time with one of the most advanced jerseys in sports.”"

The Therma Flex Warmup jacket that was introduced is a hoodie that will be worn on court for warmups. This hoodie is supposed to be able to help athletes keep the proper body temperature during warmups and while on the bench.

Possibly the biggest, most exciting news that came from Friday night was the Connected Jersey that was introduced to the public.  This jersey will have an embedded chip that will offer insights which are supposed to include pregame arrival footage, highlights, and more. These will all be offered through an app on the owners cell phone.

"“In our new connected era, Nike will lead with products that build a relationship with our consumers,” said Trevor Edwards, President, Nike Brand. “With NikeConnect, we deliver to basketball fans everywhere the personal and premium experiences we know they love.”"

The Connected jersey will be available online only beginning on September 29th. The uniforms and warmups will make their first appearance on September 30th at the beginning of the preseason. The statement jerseys will be available on November 20th and could start being worn during game time on November 25th.
