Nuggets Take Loss to Utah Jazz

The Nuggets set off for Utah to face Ricky Rubio and the Jazz and found a disappointing loss on a single game road trip.

Nuggets vs. Jazz

Utah and Denver started off the first half of the game exchanging baskets, staying relatively even throughout the first and second. Going into the third, the Nuggets were up by one, 49-48. In the second half, the Jazz picked up the pace and at the end of three, they were up by ten, 76-66. By the end of the full 48 minutes, Denver found themselves with a very disappointing 106-77 loss to the Jazz.

Denver was led tonight by Gary Harris with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Kenneth Faried joined the starting lineup and had 11 points and 8 rebounds. Jamal Murray Ended the night with a +/- of -21 with 10 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists.

The Jazz were led by Derrick Favors, who had 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in his 33 minutes. Donovan Mitchell had 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in his 30 minutes.

Denver shot 35.9% from the field, 20.6% from beyond the arc, and 87.5% from the free throw line. The Nuggets also had 42 rebounds, 13 assists, and 6 steals. The Jazz shot 48.3% from the field, 43.8% from behind the three-point line, and 88.9% from the charity stripe. Utah had 43 rebounds, 24 assists, and 7 steals.

Denver had 18 turnovers, which luckily only gave the Jazz 9 points. The Nuggets were able to convert Utah’s 11 turnovers into 28 points. Turnovers continue to be a big issue for the Nuggets and that’s something that they need to continue to work on while the season is still young.

The Nuggets will return home to the Mile High City and face the Bulls on Thursday night.
