The Denver Nuggets will take on the Los Angeles Lakers without Nikola Jokic.

The Denver Nuggets will start their stretch without Nikola Jokic against the Los Angeles Lakers. One may remember, the last time these teams faced off, Paul Millsap suffered his wrist injury which side lined him for three months.

However, this time will be different. The Nuggets will be at home this time while the Lakers are still trying to find their identity. Kyle Kuzma will have an easier time being productive in the paint.

The reason is because as one would know, Denver is without their two stars. Both of which reside in the paint where Kuzma plays and thrives. The Nuggets will have to rely on the shooting skills of Gary Harris and Jamal Murray. Harris is the third option when Millsap and Jokic are in, so it will be time for Gary to show his growth and leadership.

Lonzo Ball has been massively struggling this year, so Murray will have  great opportunity to bounce back. The shooting guards of the Lakers are also young and developing which is something that will play into Harris’ favor. Denver does have to be cautious with the second unit. While they did salvage the game against the Chicago Bulls, they have been under performing this season.

If the Lakers second unit starts running away with the game, it could signal another shake up on the bench. Guys like Will Barton and Trey Lyles will be called upon to carry their momentum from their last match up.

Barton will most likely not have another career high in points, but if he has another terrific scoring performance, it will immensely help Denver as they look to stay dominant at home. It will be tough without any of the stars, but the Nuggets are capable of defeating the Lakers.
