Nuggets’ head coach, Michael Malone, had some interesting comments after their most recent loss against the Pelicans.

The Denver Nuggets seem to be in a downward spiral on this road trip and Michael Malone is not happy about it.

After Denver succumbed to a monster performance from Demarcus Cousins, Michael Malone had some very interesting comments regarding the team’s performance as of late. Gina Mizell from HoopsHype had the quote.

"Gina Mizell: #Nuggets coach Michael Malone said he “slept like a baby” following loss at New Orleans: “I got up every two hours and cried. It was one of those nights where it was just like, ‘We’re better than this.’”"

Say what  you will about Coach Malone, but there is one thing he has proven. He cannot stand losing. It is killing him this much because he knows the team is too talented to be getting bullied on the road like this.

He also added another comment regarding the player’s defensive struggles on the road where he said they needed to stop feeling sorry for themselves. As much as fans get frustrated with Malone, sometimes the players are just as accountable for the struggles as the coach. Malone made it clear with these comments that he truly cares about this squad.

In my opinion, he has been getting a bit of a bad wrap this year. Yes, they are without Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap right now. However, losing to teams like the Mavericks the way they did is not acceptable. With electric shooters like Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Juancho Hernangomez, they should be at least .500 on this road trip.

Denver will battle the Orlando Magic on December 8 and must play a lot better than they currently have been.

Malone is not solely to blame for the recent struggles.
