The Denver Nuggets have a tendency this year to lose to lesser teams and this needs to change soon.

The Denver Nuggets, despite how improved they are this year, have adopted a terrible habit this season. They have a tendency to get beat by teams who they should defeat on paper.

Granted, this has always been something the Nuggets have been guilty of for many years, but this season is a special case. With many expecting them to make the post season, Denver has to start taking advantage of these lesser teams.

A team who defeats the defending champions, but then gets man handled by the Philadelphia 76ers on their home court is a frustrating team to be a fan of for certain. If they want to compete with the elite teams in the Western Conference, or even make the playoffs at all, this is something they have to remedy and do it soon.

The great teams of the NBA always make sure they handle their business against the lesser and the “bottom feeders,” if you will, of the league. Teams like Boston, San Antonio, Cleveland and San Antonio make sure it is not a habit of losing to worse teams. Yes, it is the NBA and sometimes upsets happen. However, the Nuggets have became the poster child of a potential playoff squad who overlooks teams they are supposed to defeat.

This is completely unacceptable and fans have every right to be upset at this fact. They are lucky to be where they are right now in the Western Conference playoff picture because at the moment, they look like a young team still trying to find their way without their veteran leader, Paul Millsap.

Denver must correct this issue if they want to be taken serious by the other playoff contenders.
