Happy New Year Nuggets fans! The NBA season is in full swing.
With the New Year rolling around, the halfway point in the season creeps ever so closer. As of right now, the Nuggets are currently seventh in the Western Conference, but still in a fight for a higher seed. If I had to choose a three word sentence to describe this team so far, it would be, “Fun, but inconsistent.”

Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets seem to be caught in a rift of trying to find their identity. One night they’ll come out and beat a team like the Warriors (which they have this season) and another night they’ll come out and get destroyed by a team like the Lakers (which they also have this season). There are a few bright spots including the play of the back-court in the past month, and Nikola Jokic coming back. They are also missing Paul Millsap due to a wrist injury that happened earlier in the season.
This being said, the Nuggets need to find a player who hasn’t made a huge impact so far and utilize him. Make that person step up and play to the best of his potential to help the squad. Look for someone who may not be way known on the NBA stage, but could make a name for themselves. Now you may be asking, who would that be that plays for the Nuggets?
Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you Torrey Craig.
He’s not the most known name on the roster, currently on a two-way contract with the team, but I like the potential in him. Craig played in the Australian basketball league known as the NBL before coming to the NBA last summer. It was then that Craig wowed fans in the Summer League, leading to the signing of a two-way contract. He is one of two players on the squad with this form of contract, the other being Monte Morris from Iowa State.
Now the Nuggets would have to clear a roster spot for the young three, but it could be worth it in my opinion. Craig is a good three-point shooter who plays enough defense to possibly help out the team. He stands at a good 6’6, and the team has shown that they have some belief in him. In fact, he played an astounding 37 minutes in a start against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Coach Malone may see something that he has, and I think it’s worth seeing what that is.
With Wilson Chandler seeming to struggle a bit and Will Barton playing anything, it would be a good call to have a back-up three like Craig. As I stated, it would lead to the trade or release of a player, but I like the potential of him so much that it could be worth it.
