Come out with energy.

The Nuggets have been notorious for starting the game lackadaisical against opponents with losing records.

Take the Atlanta game for example. Gina Mizell of the Denver Post’s article had head coach Michael Malone say it best,

"“We come out thinking we can just show up. In this league, when you think you can just show up and win a game, you get your (butt) kicked. That’s exactly what happened tonight.”"

In the same article, shooting guard Gary Harris agreed,

"There was no way we should have lost that game, but (the Hawks) had energy from the jump. They saw some shots go in, and now we’re playing uphill the whole game. We just couldn’t get over the hump.”"

If Denver wants to be a playoff contender, they have to show up in all games, not just the “high profile” ones.
