Nuggets vs. Suns game preview

The Denver Nuggets will look to bounce back against the Phoenix Suns in the Pepsi Center.

The Denver Nuggets are on the outside looking of the Western Conference playoff picture. Thanks to a heart breaking loss to the Clippers the other night, Denver is now at the ninth spot behind the likes of the Pelicans, Blazers and Clippers.

However, Denver will have a good chance to get back on track as they welcome the struggling Phoenix Suns to the Mile High City. The Suns actually played the Nuggets earlier this month and Denver came away with a huge win. Replicating that same performance will be easier said than done.

This Nuggets squad has been mightily struggling as of late. Even in wins, they have been giving the fans heart attacks and making it much harder on themselves. Case in point, the Mavericks game the other night.

The Suns are currently in the middle of a rebuild process and are building around the young Devin Booker. They still have other nice pieces with the likes of Tyson Chandler and Greg Monroe. The Nuggets are hungry to get back into the win column after they saw their playoff positioning disintegrate in the Staples Center the other night.

Head coach, Michael Malone, has actually hinted at a change in the starting rotation coming. If that is the case, then we can hopefully kiss the Plumlee-Jokic rotation goodbye. Look for Trey Lyles to possibly get the start at the power forward spot and Nikola Jokic to shift back to his natural position at the center spot. If anyone has earned a start in the past couple of months, it would by the young stretch four. He has been remarkably efficient and much more effective than Plumlee.

Next: Harris vs. Booker

This game could be a trap game, but it also has the potential for a much needed confidence booster game for the Nuggets.
