The Nuggets made a statement, defeating the Warriors which capped off a roller coaster week.

The Denver Nuggets had a statement game against the defending champions and they ended splitting the season series. Something very few teams in the NBA can say, which makes this victory over Golden State all the more impressive.

It was a great team effort and they even showed the resilience to keep up with the Warriors when things looked bad. Denver found themselves down as many as ten points at one point. Normally a terrible sign against this star powered Golden State squad.

However, this Nuggets squad has been gelling and growing about as good as any team can, and they took the Warriors by surprise. Will Barton redeemed himself after a rough week for him as was the leading scorer with 25 points. No wonder he is dubbed the “Warriors Killer,” by some fans.

Nikola Jokic, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray were efficient as usual capping off a terrific week for the young trio. As a matter of fact, Denver is kind of a rough draft of Golden State in terms of their respective rosters and how they were constructed. But, we will touch more on that later in a different article.

It was great the team was able to go two and two in this tough stretch and the two losses were only by a combined total of three points. In each of these games, they have shown they can keep up with the best the league has to offer and it could translate to them making some noise come playoff time.

What is more impressive about splitting the season series with Golden State? They did this without their star, Paul Millsap. Now imagine how well this team will look once he returns.
