Let’s acknowledge up front that Giannis Antetokounmpo is a burgeoning superstar. He put up a monster Triple-Double and tried to keep his team afloat amid the barrage of threes the Nuggets were pouring in from deep. 36, 11 and 13 are outrageous numbers particularly in a loss. The Greek Freak is legitimately on a path that leads to the Hall of Fame.
Last night, however, he met up with possibly the true Unicorn in the NBA (with apologies to KP, best wishes on a full recovery). Stack up the accolades from last night’s performance; Fastest triple-double in NBA history, one of only 3 players in 30 years to post 30, 15 and 17. The ONLY Center since Wilt to put up such numbers.
It was truly a performance for the ages and it overshadowed not only Giannis but great performances by the other two members of the Core.
