Nuggets: Top 10 defenders in their history
Theodore Roosevelt Dunn: DWS 21.6
I looked hard for supporting information for this pick. Dunn earned two all-defensive second team nods during his time with the Nuggets. He doesn’t appear on any top lists for steals, blocks or rebounds, although his numbers are solid there.
Nuggets lore will always support Dunn as a top defender, however. He was the Jordan-stopper, the guy you put on their best guy. He was strong and intense and we loved him. There are a few unsung players through the years for Denver and T.R. Dunn is most certainly one of them. His 21.6 defensive win share should rank 7th in Nuggets history but, fittingly does not show on the list.
Next: Top three scorers in Nuggets' history
We will always remember T.R.’s matchups on the big time players of the league, players including Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Dale Ellis and Magic Johnson. Dunn was always up to the task and gave the Nuggets a fighting chance every night he played.
