Nuggets: Top 10 defenders in their history
Marcus Camby: DWS 25.6
Marcus Camby was a defensive specialist for the high-powered Nuggets of the mid-2000’s. He was the defensive backbone of the Nuggets string of 50-win seasons and playoff appearances that spanned from 2003-2008.
Marcus won NBA defensive player of the year honors in 2007 and led the NBA in blocks four times.
A brilliant collapse defender, Marcus could lure opponents into the paint and then descend on them, blocking shot after shot from the back or weak side. He averaged 3.3 blocks and a steal during his tenure in Denver.
At 6’10” and 250lbs., Camby had good size and athleticism which blended well with front court mate Kenyon Martin to provide fearsome interior defense for the Nuggets.
Camby was first or second team all defense six times in his NBA career.
