The Denver Nuggets are going to be tested on the road against the high powered Washington Wizards.
The Denver Nuggets are coming off a blow out win in Chicago where they snapped a losing streak. However, they are going to be tested in every facet against this Washington Wizards team.
Gary Harris is still hurt as far as we know, so the star back court of Washington is going to be licking their chops. Bradley Beal and John Wall were both All Stars this season for a reason. As a result, the bigs are going to have to step up in pick and roll situations in order to assist guys like Jamal Murray and Will Barton.
They have to force guys like Marcin Gortat to beat them in order to make the Wizards’ lives miserable. The front court of the Nuggets is going to be instrumental to this team’s success as well. The perimeter players must get Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic as many touches as possible. It is imperative these two stars match the production of Washington’s dynamic duo.
If not, things could get ugly very quickly for this Nuggets team who looks wounded to finish the season.
While I am one who has already kissed playoff hopes goodbye for the year, the team must put up a fight or pull off an upset if they still want to somehow squeak into the playoffs. If they are bound to lose this match up, fine, but at least out swinging. A win over a team of this caliber would go a long ways towards restoring the faith within Nuggets Nation.
However, we all know it is going to be easier said than done, especially with how hot this Wizards team is as of right now.
