Choice #2: Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap has been an all-star before, back during his time with the Atlanta Hawks. He has the skill set and the capabilities to be an all-star; however, two things stand in his way: age and boring.

Let’s address these two reasons in a bit more detail.

Paul Millsap is 33 years old, so his window of being considered one of the top 12 players in the ever so stacked Western Conference is all but closed.

This is not a knock against Paul, but just accepting the fact that the West is saturated with athletic specimens on the rise!

The other reason comes into effect based on the All-Star Game itself and what it has become. The previous all-star games have become high flying dunk contests that showcase the leagues most athletic players.

Paul Millsap isn’t a high flying dunker, he is a fundamentally sound work horse.

His game translates well to a winning basketball team, but will not attract voters outside of the Mile High City.
