The Denver Nuggets are putting up a fight as they trail the Minnesota Timberwolves by three points at the half.
The Denver Nuggets are fighting for their post season lives. They are led by Jamal Murray who has 13 points at the half time break. The Timberwolves are led by their best player, Karl Anthony Towns, who has 15 points.
Jamal Crawford has torched the Nuggets so far as he has come off the bench to provide some crucial and valuable minutes in a must win game for both sides.
Nikola Jokic has been struggling mightily so far as he is only shooting three for 13 in the first half. A terrible showing for the Nuggets’ star. His success is critical to Denver’s production and he must step it up in the second half.
If not, then the Denver Nuggets will have a lot of answers to look for as they cannot keep looking for Jamal Murray and Devin Harris to keep the team in the game when things start to get ugly.
Torrey Craig has provided some crucial defensive production in the seven minutes he has gotten in for the Nuggets. This included a huge block on a fast break which would have shifted the momentum if they had not given up the rebound resulting in an easy mid range jump shot.
Surprisingly, Trey Lyles has not seen the floor as of yet. Do not be surprised if head coach, Michael Malone, goes deeper into his bench in the second half in order to remedy the production of the Timberwolves’ second unit.
In a way, the Nuggets are lucky they are only down by three points. With Jokic struggling to score, it is a miracle they are only down by three points.
