Denver Nuggets knock Clippers out of playoffs
By Mathew Huff
The Denver Nuggets were clicking on all cylinders as they knocked the Los Angeles Clippers out of the Western Conference post season.
The Denver Nuggets got terrific production from nearly all of their personnel in the game in Los Angeles. Thanks to Nikola Jokic getting his ninth triple double, Denver’s offense looked like a well oiled machine. An offense which proved too much for the Los Angeles Clippers defense.
The Clippers were able to keep it close until the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter hit and the Nuggets blew the game wide open. Los Angeles started getting sloppy. Denver took advantage and dealt the fatal blow.
It was a bit of a heart wrenching loss for the Clippers as they will be missing the post season for the first time in many years. What matters to us Denver fans though, is the win. A win which showed this team is hitting their stride at the correct time as they push for the playoffs.
Will Barton was crucial as he hit 31 points in 31 minutes of play.
Paul Millsap had 15 points on 46.2% shooting and Wilson Chandler finished with 13 points on an efficient 75%.
However, one player people should be bragging about though is Jamal Murray. He is flourishing at the right time which is a welcome sign. Murray tallied 19 points on a terrific 80% shooting. Jamal lived in the mid range all game as the Clippers had no answer for him no matter what shot he took.
The Denver Nuggets are now on a five game win streak. Furthermore, they still have a shot at the fourth seed in the West. But, they just have to keep taking it one game at a time.
