The Denver Nuggets had another heart breaking end to the season. Next year will be the key though.

The Denver Nuggets have constructed a great team during their rebuild process. In almost any other season, the Nuggets would have easily made the Western Conference post season at any range from the four to seven seed.

This season was different unfortunately. Teams like the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers made surprising improvements. As a result, it bumped the Nuggets out of the playoffs. Of course, Denver was knocked out of the post season in the final game of the year by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the stinging overtime loss.

However, this team showed great signs of potential throughout the season. Even mainstream media analysts and other teams are recognizing Denver will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

The team has already announced they are going to keep head coach, Michael Malone. A decision I am not sure I agree with, but that is neither here nor there. If they keep track on pace with how they have improved in the past few seasons, then they should win around 50 wins next year if the pattern repeats again.

If not, then they should still put up a fight for a post season appearance. There is a problem there though. They have been in the same situation the last two seasons and they have failed. The Nuggets need to get off to a hot start next season if they want any chance at a six seed or higher.

Next year will be the year where we will see if this Denver squad is truly ready to become a contender in the competitive league of the National Basketball Association.
