The Denver Nuggets are a very talented squad, but they still have a glaring hole which they need to remedy this upcoming summer.

The Denver Nuggets are still in desperate need of a capable small forward. Despite Wilson Chandler having a bit of a bounce back second half of the regular season, the fact is he choked in the most important game of the season.

In the game at Minnesota, Chandler played over 40 minutes and did not register a single point. This is something which is unacceptable and let’s be honest, we are not sure he even wants to be in the Mile High anyway. He wanted to be the starter and got his chance after the departure of Danilo Gallinari. Well, this season showed he was better suited in his role coming off the bench. Therefore, it may be time to part ways with the veteran small forward.

So, how can Denver fix this glaring hole at the three spot? Despite most likely not getting a top 10 draft pick, they could still find a quality rookie in this season’s draft class. A player like Mikal Bridges from Villanova would be very ideal for this current Denver Nuggets squad. However, there is also a great chance he will be snatched up before the Nuggets are on the clock.

This brings up the free agent market. A player like Tyreke Evans would provide some much needed athleticism at the wing position and is coming off possibly the best season of his entire career. Trevor Ariza would also be very ideal for the Nuggets as he would provide some great length and defensive capabilities. This would bolster Denver’s porous defense and give them an answer at the small forward spot. Ariza would thrive in the Nuggets’ system.
