The Denver Nuggets have an interesting dilemma on their hands with Torrey Craig.

Craig is currently on a two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets. This means that he can spend a certain number of days with the NBA roster, but if he passes that total, then he must be either signed to a full contract, or spend the rest of the time in the G-League. He’s not the only two-way contract the Nuggets hold, Monte Morris represents the other one.

Should the Nuggets hold onto the potential gem they could have found from Australia? Personally, unless they get lucky and draft an insanely great talent this year, I don’t see why not.

When you look at his numbers, none of them are really eye-popping for the season. He only averaged about four points per game with three rebounds and a field goal percentage of 45 percent. (per basketball-reference) That being said, the total stats aren’t always that important.

Craig was a guy that could come in and give a bit of defensive help when needed. He’s capable of guarding the bigger guys while also agile enough to guard down. He can shoot the three-ball, limits his turnovers, and isn’t afraid to do whatever dirty work he needs to do.

My favorite part about him? The Nuggets get a player who may be new to the NBA, but he has some experience under his belt. Craig has been balling for a good while now, from South Carolina Upstate to the NBL in Australia/New Zealand. He was a member of the Brisbane Bullets, a team in the NBA stationed in Australia when the Nuggets picked him up.

He has the experience, both in basketball and now the NBA, and the Nuggets aren’t very deep at the three. Shouldn’t that be enough of an argument to go sign him?
