One player that was a mainstay in the Nuggets backcourt for most of the 1990s was shooting guard Bryant Stith. Denver selected the two-guard out of Virginia No. 13 overall in the 1992 NBA Draft. Stith was the 1989 ACC Rookie of the Year, a three-time All-ACC first-teamer and an All-American honorable mention on three separate occasions.

While Stith only played in 39 games during his rookie season in 1992-93, he would play in all 82 the following season as a second-year player. Stith would only miss one regular season game in the next two combined seasons before injuries started to take a toll on him. He would never appear in more than 52 games for the Nuggets in his final three years with the team.

Shortly before the 2000-01 NBA season, Stith would be traded to the Boston Celtics with Chris Herren for Calbert Cheaney and Robert Pack. He played one season with the Celtics before signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2001. That would prove to be his final NBA season, even though his rights were traded to Los Angeles Clippers before the 2002-03 NBA season.

In eight years with the Nuggets, Stith would average 10.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 28.9 minutes per contest. While he never became an All-Star, Stith would be a model of consistency as a rotational player at the two-guard for the first eight years of his NBA career in Denver. He is currently an assistant coach for the Old Dominion Monarchs in Conference USA.
