The Denver Nuggets received Devin Harris in a mid season trade which dealt Emmanuel Mudiay to the New York Knicks.

The Denver Nuggets were able to solve one of their needs this past season when they traded Emmanuel Mudiay for Devin Harris.

Devin Harris provided a veteran back up for the Nuggets and was actually solid for Denver in some crucial games at the end of the year. Of course, we cannot forget the Minnesota game during Denver’s last win streak where Harris caught fire in the second half and put the team on his back by hitting three point shot after three point shot.

Harris is well past his prime, but he can still find a role on almost any team in the league. Per basketball reference, Harris averaged an effective field goal percentage of 50.9% this past season and averaged a three point percentage of 34.4% as well while he was in a Denver Nuggets uniform.

After the trade, Harris increased his offensive rating from 107 to 115 showing he had a limited role with the Dallas Mavericks. Harris may not be back with the Denver Nuggets this next year, however, it may not be a bad idea to bring him back in order to solidify the back up point guard spot next season.

The starting point guard spot is Jamal Murray’s to lose, but the back up is still up in the air and if Harris walks, it will be a major question mark again next season. Devin Harris actually fits well in the Mile High city, something which I am willing to admit I was wrong about after the trade.
