The Denver Nuggets have been put in a lot of trade speculation over the past couple of weeks.

Many were devastated when the Denver Nuggets got the 14th pick in the draft. Not an ideal pick, but what else did we expect?

With that, came many new trade scenarios. Some are speculating trading some role players for a slightly higher pick, some are even going as far to suggest trading Jokic for Karl Anthony Towns or even the Suns’ first overall pick.

More shockingly, there are some fans suggesting trading one of the core to get a different pick. Trading Gary Harris, Jamal Murray or Nikola Jokic AKA, the core trio, would be franchise suicide.

After all these years of developing these three players, trading one of them or more would be extremely counter productive of the team. There is a reason the Philadelphia 76ers’ fan base is so attached to the phrase “trust the process.”

It is because being patient and having faith in a rebuild rather than forcing something usually pays off more times than not. Whoever is going to be the first overall pick is unproven and any other big time player the team could land for Jokic may not fit as well as Nikola does in Denver’s scheme.

Not to mention, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray are perfect playing alongside Jokic. They also have developed a great chemistry with not just the team, but the fan base as well.

A rare sight these days given these relationships with fans and players normally form between proven super stars like LeBron James and Steph Curry. Trading Harris or Murray would seriously damage this organization’s image.

The Denver Nuggets may have had a heart breaking end to the season. However, that is no reason to blow up to main core for something unproven now.
