Denver Nuggets: Nikola Jokic snubbed from All NBA Teams
By Mathew Huff
The Denver Nuggets failed once again to get anyone on any of the All NBA Teams once again.
The Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic had a terrific season once again. A season which warranted him making at the very least, an All NBA Third team selection.
Unfortunately, it did not happen. Jokic did get 28 votes for an All NBA selection. At the end of the day, it was not enough.
There were even some players who received some votes. One of which was the Houston Rockets’, Trevor Ariza. As a result, this took away from a potential vote from the Joker.
For those who are wondering, here are what the All NBA teams were: All NBA First Team- LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, James Harden and Kevin Durant. All NBA Second Team- LaMarcus Aldridge, Giannis Antekounmpo, DeMar DeRozan, Joel Embiid and Russell Westbrook. All NBA Third Team- Jimmy Butler, Steph Curry, Paul George, Victor Oladipo and Karl Anthony Towns.
Other notable omissions from the All NBA Teams were Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving and Al Horford. Jokic received the sixth most votes out of the players who did receive votes, but were left off of the list.
It was already a surprise to see Gary Harris snubbed from the All Defensive Teams, but Jokic being left off the All NBA Teams is just preposterous. Let’s be honest, Joel Embiid and DeMar DeRozan are great players.
Not to take anything away from them, but Jokic was debatebly more valuable to his team than those two were to theirs this past season. The 76ers still had Ben Simmons to help them carry the team and the Raptors have Kyle Lowry at the point guard. When Jokic was out with injury, the Nuggets production went downhill and they were not able to win as many games without their best player like the other teams.
