The Denver Nuggets got a steal with Jamal Murray, who happens to have Kobe Bryant like tendencies in terms of his competitive fire.
The Denver Nuggets have found their point guard of the future in the young Jamal Murray. However, many didn’t realize just how promising he was when he broke out and showcased his massive potential.
There is one quality which goes unnoticed much of the time with the Kentucky sensation. That would be his competitive spirit.
Murray has an insane work ethic and is obsessed with bettering his game in the off season. While many were upset with Murray’s antics against Lonzo Ball in a win this past season, mainly Lakers fans, I saw something else. I saw a player who wasn’t afraid of the back lash and willing to get under the skin of his opponent. Something which many great players have had the ability to do in the past.
Not to mention, Jamal is deceptively fierce. As a matter of fact, Murray has quickly became the most competitive player on the Denver Nuggets. That is a straight fact. No disrespect to the other great players, but when it comes to competitive fire, Murray comes the closest to having that Kobe Bryant type of rage when it comes finding success on the basketball court.
Jamal needs to fuel this competitiveness and continue to use it to develop at a high rate. He has already shown a great amount of growth and with how young he is, his efficiency is only going to sky rocket through the ceiling.
A scary thought for the rest of the NBA. Murray has several great qualities as a player, but one main quality which goes overlooked is his competitive rage.
