The Denver Nuggets could target Gerald Green who had a solid season with the Houston Rockets.

The Denver Nuggets have a lot of questions to answer with the NBA Draft and free agency coming up soon. One potential free agent the Nuggets should take a look at is the Houston Rockets’, Gerald Green.

Green is an athletic wing who could provide some nice versatility at the three spot for the Denver Nuggets. He may not be the “prized possession,” of free agency for other teams. However, the Nuggets have to keep their realistic options open.

Green would have a larger role here in the Mile High City even though the main options on offense will still be Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets would not need Gerald Green to put up 20 points per game. But, he would be an athletic option who can even show some flashes on the defensive end as well.

Not to mention,  he would provide more effort on a consistent basis than Wilson Chandler did for Denver this past season. Green is a journeyman who would fit the current mold of the Denver Nuggets’ core.

Green can attack the paint aggressively which can create the floor to open up for the Nuggets’ jump shooters. This would lead to plenty of opportunities at the rim and/or open three point shots which could jump start Denver’s already high powered offense.

In addition to all of this, Green is more of an affordable option at the wing  spot than other small forwards who will be hitting the free agent market this summer. Many of the small forwards who would be perfect for the Nuggets will want to have a max contract, something Denver cannot afford.
