The Denver Nuggets got a defensive gem in Torrey Craig, also known as the “LeBron of the G League,” in the middle of this past season.

Torrey Craig is a blue collar type of player who has endeared himself to the Denver Nuggets organization.

He was called up in the middle of the season to assist with Denver’s lack of depth on the bench. To say he was up for the challenge, would be an understatement.

Craig is not a player who is going to put up triple doubles, 30 point games or be a flashy player capable. However, he provides a great attitude and is a rag tag type of defender who the Nuggets sorely need for their already porous defense.

With a little more development, Craig can become a very polished defender. He can become an even better two way player with a little improvement in his offensive game.

Next season, I would love for the Nuggets to bring him back. Just to see how he can progress throughout an entire season. He has deceptive length and looks to be a very athletic specimen. He knew his role and did not disrupt the offense.

A very underrated fact considering the Nuggets had a top 10 offense for the second season in a row. Craig could develop into one of the best feel good stories in the entire NBA if the Denver Nuggets are smart with his contract.

Craig has already solidified himself as a solid role player who many NBA teams would love to have on their respective roster. His attitude when it comes to bettering himself is very similar to Gary Harris.

Nuggets fans should be excited for Craig’s future as a fixture on Denver’s second unit at the very least.
