The Denver Nuggets may have finally found a suitor for Kenneth Faried.

According to Slam, the Atlanta Hawks are interested in the Denver Nuggets’ power forward, Kenneth Faried. That is, “for the right price.”

Regardless, the Nuggets need to jump at the chance to off load the Manimal’s contract. Faried is severely handi capping the Nuggets. This is preventing the team from being able to offer Nikola Jokic a rightful contract and surround him with the necessary talent. Faried is going to be owed 13.8 million on the last year of his contract.

According to the report, the Hawks would want a package centered around him with future draft picks and/or young talent already on Denver’s roster. If this is what they would want, the Nuggets need to be willing to pull the trigger. They could part ways with some draft picks. Doing this without sacrificing someone like Malik Beasley or Juancho Hernangomez in the potential Kenneth Faried deal would be a win for Denver.

Their rebuild process is pretty much complete now. So, their draft picks are nowhere near as valuable as they used to be barring something catastrophic occurring. It would hurt to see Faried go after all the great years he provided the organization. However, he doesn’t fit in the rotation anymore and is just taking up valuable cap space for the Nuggets.

On the flip side, he would provide some excitement for the struggling and rebuilding Atlanta Hawks franchise and provide a nice fill in at the power forward spot. Despite the bloated contract, he could still have a nice role in the city of Atlanta and find new life with some actual playing time.

Faried would provide the Hawks with some needed hustle and help on the glass in both the offensive and defensive rebounding departments.
