Trade #3

Nuggets trade: Jamal Murray, Wilson Chandler, Will Barton(sign and trade), 2018 First Round Pick(14th overall), 2019 First Round Pick(top 5 and 25-30 protected)

Spurs trade: Kawhi Leonard, Dejounte Murray

This may be the most hopeful of all the trades. While the Spurs would be getting three possible starters and two undetermined young players, they would be giving up two of their best players.

Dejounte Murray stepped in for Tony Parker as a starter last season and quietly was one of the best role-players in the NBA.

His averages may not look like those of a star, but he was a 2017-18 All-Defensive 2nd Team member, and from February on, he started all 28 games, averaged 11.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, while playing an average of 26.2 minutes. He has proved that he is a starting caliber point guard, even if he’s still developing a three-point shot.

As for what the Spurs get, Jamal Murray is becoming one of the better perimeter marksmen in the league, and his defense is improving as well. Popovich will certainly help him on his way on the defensive side of the ball, and he looks like he could be a future All-Star.

Wilson Chandler would mainly be there for salary purposes(assuming he accepts his player option, which he is very likely to do). Will Barton is an athletic ball-handler who can create his own shot (and sometimes won’t stop creating his own shot, but that’s for another article).

He can put the ball in the basket from anywhere on the court and is a great sixth man option.

Overall, this trade would be beneficial for both sides.
