Jamal Murray has shown massive improvement over his first two seasons for the Denver Nuggets. Does he have the tools to become a superstar?
Jamal Murray was drafted #7 overall in the 2016 draft by the Denver Nuggets. They drafted him as a shooting guard, and that’s primarily the position that he played during his first season, coming off of the bench behind Gary Harris. He also got some run at point guard behind Jameer Nelson and Emmanuel Mudiay.
In his second season, the Nuggets moved Murray to full time point guard, handing him the starting job. It was a big adjustment for Murray, who was widely considered a scoring guard coming out of college. He had to learn how to distribute the ball and run an offense. He responded exceptionally, adjusting to a new position on the fly and being an asset to a Denver team that missed out on the playoffs by one game.
So far, Murray has shown the Nuggets what they hoped he would. He has steadily improved, and still has sky-high potential. He is a great three-point shooter, and hits his free-throws.
Looking back at his college, his first two seasons in the NBA, and looking ahead, does Murray have superstar written all over him?
