Winner: Alex English
Much to the delight of Nuggets fans still angry at Carmelo for forcing a trade to New York, Alex English is victorious. Ultimately, English prevailed almost solely because of his scoring and passing ability.
They are actually very similar players in terms of their strengths and weaknesses, but ultimately I feel that English is not that much worse on defense to warrant finishing below Melo.
While technically Anthony has time to pass English on these rankings, he has been on the decline over the past couple of years and will be entering his 16th season in the league.
For comparison, in English’s 15th and final year in the league, he played 22.1 minutes per game and scored 9.7 ppg while maintaining a 1 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.

If Melo’s season is anything like that, he will definitely not be passing English any time soon.
