In the 2018 NBA Draft, the Denver Nuggets had their mind made up about who they were going to draft. In fact, their minds were so set on one player in the second round they traded a future draft pick to get him.

The Nuggets traded the rights to the 43rd pick in the draft(Justin Jackson, Maryland) and a future second-round pick to the Orlando Magic for the rights to the 41st pick, Jarred Vanderbilt out of Kentucky.

In my opinion, this was a phenomenal move.

It addresses an immediate need(defense) and adds another big man with a lot of potential to the Nuggets roster. But the question is: does Vanderbilt have the potential to be a starter in the NBA?

That’s what we’re going to be looking at today. So let’s get into it and see why Vanderbilt could be a future starter.
