The Denver Nuggets core trio of Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are once again being emphasized as untouchable trade pieces.

The Denver Nuggets have their core set for the foreseeable future. We already know Nikola Jokic is the franchise cornerstone of this team.

However, Murray and Harris still were question marks for many fans this season. However, the team has re-emphasized that Jamal and Gary are untouchable when it comes to trade talks moving forward.

This is great to hear as it shows the front office has faith in the core trio who has established a solid foundation for this young team. A young team who is looking to end a five year post season drought.

Jamal Murray established himself last season as the point guard of the future after having an even more explosive season at point than he did at shooting guard, which is the position he came into the league playing.

Harris has incrementally improved every year of his career so far and one could make the case that he should have been in the conversation for Most Improved Player of the Year a couple of times already. He has solidified himself as the premier two player on the perimeter for the Denver Nuggets. Last year, Harris averaged 1.8 steals per game along with a steal percentage of 2.6% per basketball reference.

Jokic has already made his way into the conversation as a top 25 player according to many outlets as he averaged 6.1 assists per game as a center to couple with a three point shooting percentage of 39.6%.

Murray saw his scoring averaged jump from 9.9 points per game to 16.7 per game and also had a win share of 5.5.

This goes to show that the core trio of the Nuggets should be untouchable in trade discussions and that the front office is making the correct decision with their future.
