Denver Nuggets: Grading the starting five from the win
By Mathew Huff
Nikola Jokic- A
Jokic had a much better outing than he did in the first preseason game.
Denver Nuggets
He cut his turnovers down to three and also posted totals of 20 points, six rebounds and four assists for a solid offensive performance. Three of those rebounds were offensive which resulted in some key second chance points for the team and also got a steal.
He looked more in command of the offense than he did in the preseason opener and looked a lot more comfortable.
Jokic was active all over the floor as he was getting physical on the inside, but also making the Lakers’ defense stay honest by respecting his outside shot which opened up the floor for the explosive Denver offense.
This is the type of game we expect to see from the Joker on a consistent basis now, especially since he is now a max contract player in this league.
The only thing which prevents him from getting the A+ grade is that he did not record a block and still looked vulnerable at the defensive end.
