The Denver Nuggets will welcome the Perth Wildcats to the Pepsi Center.

The one and only preseason game at home for the Denver Nuggets will be a unique one. Not only is it their lone home game for the preseason, they will be hosting a foreign basketball team.

They will be taking on the Perth Wildcats who reside in Australia. As a result, there is not much to go off of in terms of match ups as these teams have not played each other before. With that in mind, keep an eye out for some the Denver Nuggets’ second unit to play some heavy minutes and come up big again like they have in the last two preseason games.

Guys like Mason Plumlee and Malik Beasley will be key and could make a huge impact. Do not forget, Plumlee is coming off a game where he was 100% from the field and also possessed a game high 23 points to lead the bench.

Other notable players to watch for are Donald Sloan, the journeyman, Thomas Welsh, the rookie and Tyler Lydon, the lottery draft pick from last season’s NBA Draft. Considering the Nuggets are not playing a NBA team, I would not expect heavy minutes from the key starters in Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. Remember, Harris and Murray were out last game with slight injuries anyway.

I would not even be surprised if the team sat down Paul Millsap for this game considering he is not getting any younger and is entering his 13th year in the league. Even if the Nuggets do not play their starters, this should still be an entertaining game to watch as it gives a chance to watch another team from outside the United States of America and somewhat gauge the talent that is being churned out overseas.

I still predict the Nuggets to win this game, but do not be shocked if the Perth Wildcats put up a fight and make life a little difficult for our squad.
