After a big win over the Golden State Warriors, the Denver Nuggets will welcome the Sacramento Kings to the Pepsi Center.

With that being said, this is not just another team the Denver Nuggets can overlook. The Kings may be a lottery team from last season, but as we all know, the Nuggets have a tendency to lose these types of games.

While the team is riding high into the second week of the regular season, there have already been some bumps in the road which the team has already hit.

For starters, Will Barton is now going to be out for five to six weeks with a hip and core injury.

Not to mention, the team shot a putrid 57.1% from the free throw line in the 100-98 win over the Golden State Warriors. Obviously, this will need to be corrected going forward if the Nuggets want to maintain their dominance in the competitive Western Conference.

On top of this, the back court of Gary Harris and Jamal Murray has struggled out of the gate in terms of three point shooting. So far this year, Harris is averaging 18.8% from three point territory and Murray is only shooting only 25% to start the season.

As a result, the back court of the Kings consisting of D’Aaron Fox and Yogi Ferrell could provide to be more of a challenge than expected. This would be a great game for the two young guards of Denver to get their feet under them when it comes to three point shooting.

If the team is smart, they will continue to run the offense through Nikola Jokic who is coming off a great week which netted him the first Western Conference Player of the Week of the season. His play has been MVP like so far this season.

Head coach, Michael Malone, knows this and knows that Jokic is capable of putting together performances like we have seen the past week.

Denver will be in for a tough battle with the Sacramento Kings and they cannot afford to overlook this young team.
