Had an exceptional college basketball career at Louisiana State University.
In his sophomore season there, he led the program to their first final four appearance since 1953. He is also the 3rd leading scorer in Louisiana State University history.
Drafted 15th in the 1st round by the Denver Nuggets, Howard Carter’s NBA career would be over roughly a year later.
Although a shooting guard, Howard Carter was unable to score sufficient points or excel at anything well enough to get meaningful minutes.
His career averages in the NBA were 5.3 points per game, 1.3 rebounds per game, 1.1 assists per game on 44% shooting from the field.
