The Denver Nuggets have had some ups and downs in relatively good start to the season.

The current losing streak is painful to watch yet the 9-4 record is fairly satisfactory. The losses to Memphis and Brooklyn have left the Denver Nuggets in a tough spot once again. They played the Bucks very well in my opinion just had a bad stretch in the final minute and a half against a very good team and the game got away.

The problem is they did the same thing against Brooklyn and dropped one to Memphis as well. So, up next is an angry and star studded Houston Rockets team standing between the Nuggets and breaking a 3 game losing streak. With a loss the Nuggets fall to 9-5 in the midst of what would become a 4 game losing streak.

So what could have been an early season game against a championship contender that nobody would fault the Nuggets for dropping has suddenly become a potential turning point in the Nuggets season. 10-4 with a win over the Rockets reinstate the Nuggets firmly amongst the top teams while 9-5 gets the critics going that Denver’s hot start as over achieving.

The Nuggets have the talent and have at times showed the chemistry to be elite. The scoring from Nikola Jokic took a brief hiatus that the Nuggets overcame until Memphis came knocking. Well he’s back with a vengeance, much of the team still shot poorly against Brooklyn and even with Paul Millsap’s heroics against Milwaukee, Denver just couldn’t outpace the Bucks and let one get away.

The Houston Rockets are now coming to the Pepsi Center featuring James Harden and Chris Paul.

The Denver Nuggets will need Nikola Jokic to be himself and help from several teammates including Gary Harris who’s shooting percentage in wins versus losses is quite a ways apart and Jamal Murray who can score in bunches to right this ship and stay amongst the championship contenders.
