1) The Joker

Michael Jordan, the man still widely considered to be the G.O.A.T. (LeBron James notwithstanding) proved that winning a championship in the NBA requires the full effort of a real team.

In Denver, the Nuggets franchise player is one Nikola “The Joker” Jokic.  One who is similar to the LeBron James in terms of his court vision and passing ability.

Importantly, Jokic passes the test of making his teammates better that Charles Barkley often refers too. When Jokic’s own game is on he helps lead the Nuggets with scoring down low and everywhere else too.

Furthermore, Jokic’s ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates is a constant that helps ensure the Denver Nuggets as a team are always moving forward.

As with every great championship caliber team, from Tim Duncan’s Spurs to Steph Curry’s Warriors; Having your best player lead by example is an invaluable asset that boosts the functionality of the team as a whole.

Nikola is currently 11th in the NBA in terms of PER rating with a score of 24.94. He is 17th in the NBA in terms of his plus minus rating and a nightly triple double threat with averages this season of 17.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists.

On top of all of that, recent games indicate that Jamal Murray is becoming a better facilitator too whilst simultaneously taking better care of the basketball.

More evidence of the Denver Nuggets’ championship potential.
