7) The Power Of Teamwork
As the saying goes there is no ‘I’ in team. Obviously basketball is a team sport.
Denver Nuggets
One of the things that stands out about the Denver Nuggets is how they are playing as a team on both sides of the ball. On defense, the Nuggets are helping each other close off scoring opportunities for opposing teams all over the floor.
Their communication has gotten better, which means their defense will likely improve further come season end.
Meanwhile, Denver’s offense has been going from strength to strength. In large part due to Jokic’s play making, but also that of Jamal Murray (4.8 assists per game), Monte Morris (4.1 assists per game) and Mason Plumlee (2.1 assists per game).
When looked at from this vantage point, it’s no surprise that the Nuggets are 3rd in the NBA for assists averaged per game.
A team that plays together, where everybody contributes and gets to shine, is a team where everyone is engaged because players know they can be called to contribute at any given time.
The results of that is a fluidity that is really tough to beat – as we’ve seen.
In short, this is one of the strongest reasons why the Denver Nuggets are a big championship threat.
