The Denver Nuggets are a sleeper to go far in the post season.

The Denver Nuggets have solidified themselves as one of the most pleasant surprises in the Western Conference this season.

They started off the regular season by winning their first stretch of games which resulted in them having a 9-3 win loss record for awhile.

Then, adversity hit as they were hit hard by the injury bug losing key players in Will Barton to a core injury, Gary Harris to a hip injury and Paul Millsap to a broken toe to add to the losses of Isaiah Thomas (hip) and their lottery draft pick, Michael Porter Jr (back).

However, the team steadied the ship and continued to find ways to win important games and utilize their depth to keep them not just in the playoff picture, but in the dark horse Western Conference Finals conversation as well.

They have proven to the league they are 10 deep as they have won games against other notable playoff favorites in the Oklahoma City Thunder, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks and the very improved Memphis Grizzlies who are finally healthy compared to last year. The Nuggets are a team that no one can overlook anymore and they are a threat to anyone in the league this year.

Just ask the defending champion Golden State Warriors who were defeated by the Nuggets at the start of the season by a final score of 100-98. The same game where Juan Hernangomez got the game winning blocked shot.

Speaking of the Warriors, the Nuggets are on a crash course to meet them in the Western Conference Finals.

Here are five reasons it is destined to happen.
