The Denver Nuggets may want to look at some potential trades for their backup power forward.
The Denver Nuggets have taken a major step this season. After a bittersweet end to last season, Denver went from being favorites to at least make the post season, to being a dark horse to make it to the Western Conference Finals.
However, there have still been some hiccups here and there this season and not every player on the team has been playing at a high level.
With that always comes some possibilities for a trade to help bolster the already talented Denver Nuggets squad.
For this article, we will look at five realistic trade opportunities for the Denver Nuggets to trade their backup power forward, Trey Lyles. Lyles started the year off somewhat promising.
However, he has really regressed since that point and has done more harm than good so far.
He is averaging a player differential of -3.3 as of January 18. His defensive box plus/minus at this time also stood at -0.7 to go along with an offensive box plus/minus of a less than stellar -2.6.
Lyles has also shot poorly from the field as he has been averaging a field goal percentage below 45% from the field and has gone from striking almost 40% of his three point shots last season to less than 30% of his shots from downtown this season.
I hate to say it, but it is starting to become apparent why the Jazz only played him around only 15 minutes per game during his tenure in Utah.
However, he still has shown some potential here and there which could intrigue some other teams. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at five possible trade packages.
