Trade Deadline Deal #1:

Look, Trey Lyles has been playing really well off of the bench for the Nuggets, but he really doesn’t fit the picture that the Nuggets have for the future. Some games he plays a ton of minutes and the next he barely sees the floor, why wouldn’t the Nuggets at least look at a few deals for the Canadian player?

It really wasn’t a secret that the Nuggets were pretty interested in O.G. Anunoby in the 2017 draft, in fact, the main reason they traded for Lyles was to move back and try to swipe him late in the first round. Toronto sniffed this out and pick O.G. with the 22nd selection, one pick before the Nuggets. Denver would definitely be interested in trying to get the defensive-minded small forward, and Malachi Richardson would most likely be waived with this deal.
