The Denver Nuggets snapped a three-game skid last time out. They’ll look to make it two straight heading into the All-Star break Wednesday against the Kings. Here are 3 things to watch as they try.
Basketball fans in the Mile High City can finally rest easy. With an impressive 103-87 win over the Miami Heat Monday, the Denver Nuggets are seemingly back on track.
They brought an impressive energy — especially on the defensive end — to snap a three-game skid and get their feet back under them before the All-Star break.
“It was a good win,” Malone said after the game. “After you lose three in a row, you need everybody to step up. And I think we had that tonight.”
Nikola Jokic and Malik Beasley led Denver with 23 points each, and Monte Morris added 17 off the bench.
It also marked a happy return to Pepsi Center after a four-game road trip.
“When you’re playing at home you don’t have to travel,” Jokic said after the win. “You sleep in your bed. It’s a little bit of everything, you know.”
And surely it didn’t hurt that the Miami Heat — one of the leagues worst offenses already — were coming off a tight loss to the Warriors the night before.
But, the Nuggets can’t relax quite yet, because they have one more before the All-Star Break — hosting the Kings Wednesday.
